Supreme Court and the EPA: Interesting Developments — Hot Air

Quick note: apologies if some of you just got bombarded by massive OMG STUFF GOT PUBLISHED spam. That was me un censoring my website.

This piece of audio comes from Hot Air, worth a look as it could have far reaching implications for styles of government regulation and enforcement in this country. The specific case is Sackett v EPA. Link and commentary…after the jump.

Skeptic Conservative Going on Strike Against SOPA

((The protest is over, but the issue is not! Bill comes to a vote on the 24th!))

You can officially consider the Skeptic Conservative, Imperial-Gaming, and Totalwartracker to be endorsing the protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act as well as the Protect Intellectual Property Act currently threatening to make their way through congress.

Caller Followup for Skeptic Conservative Podcast 1/13/12 – Ultra Orthodox Jews

Sorry this took a little longer then anticipated, and it may not be the most complete response but at least everybody will know my stance on this.

This is in response to a call from Observer92, a long time listener and follower who was talking about the potential for the Ultra-Orthodox jews to gain power and influence in Israel in the coming year, as part of the official predictions show. (The compilation of which I’m also working on now)

You can listen to the show HERE! My response and thoughts after the jump.

Hey, Haven’t we Seen Her Before? Occupy SD Kicked off Texas Bus

So remember back in November/Octoberish when that woman from Occupy San Diego punched the camera out of that one lady’s hands? That incident sparked off the whole “debate” with drysift!

I do believe we have stumbled into her once again, tied into a story about a small contingent of occupiers getting kicked off a greyhound bus. Links and a little discussion…After the jump.

GOP Field – Does Santorum have the Wrong Mindset? – Roger Hedgecock

Hey folks! The next few days or so will be a bit busy, so I won’t be writing -as- much for this. I will be writing…papers for school. Hooray! I have NOT forgotten my que or ongoing discussions, never fear. I just have to bump things around when time gets short.

However, I’ll still be absorbing the news and sharing the occasional stand-out story, such as this one Rodger Hedgecock did where he interviewed Rick Santorum and did research on his background and experience. Remarks that stood out especially were ones regarding just how Rick Santorum would try to achieve his goals, an area Santorum is weak in and a significant one.

Rodger Hedgecock is one of the best out there when it comes to researching candidates and issues. This just may be changing my lukewarm attitude towards Santorum in comparison to the other. How about you?

Happy MLK day!

Skeptic Conservative Show — 1/13/2012

Listen to
internet radio with TheDougem on Blog Talk Radio

That was a fun show! Far less attendence then the previous one (8 live) but I am not unhappy with this – I’m used to spikes in attendence and frankly it’s normal.

Show notes and thoughts after the jump.

Skeptic Conservative for FRIDAY THE 13th!! (1/13/2012)

Oh me oh my, what a day to do a show.

SHOW LINK HERE — Friday, January 13th, 8:30 pm Pacific time

This will be a predictions show! It will ALSO feature a discussion in the first half regarding SOPA, and what I perceive to be a slowly growing hostility towards independent media and the internet by the government. What exactly do I mean?

Nutshell: The world remains a very scary place in some ways. Enjoy the internet for the blessing that it is while it remains a truly free and open exchange of ideas. It’s now possible this could change. I will explain myself in show – I know, alarmist rhetoric on my part, but this is nasty stuff folks, and has a direct impact on me and my potential career.

Looking forward to seeing ya’all there!

BONUS: I have scheduled an END OF THE WORLD SHOW for December 20th, 2012! only eleven and a half months to go! I can barely wait!

Regarding Iran and Foreign Policy Options

Well isn’t this right timely?

PJMedia did a posting on possible options with dealing with Iran. Some of them sound a lot like my suggestions, and largely I agree with the things posited in this piece.

For those who need a reminder, I discussed this earlier in a caller clarification article.

Discuss! Or not. It’s up to you. I’ll likely bring this up on Friday’s show (8:30pm. Sorry Canada, time constraints demand it.)

UCSD – CLICS Break-in: A Story Untold

Wow, did this vanish off the radar quickly.

Folks, before I get into this –

1) This is not meant to be a hit piece on those behind the break in, it’s to cover discrepencies in reporting that I noticed at the time more than anything else, in the interest of giving folks a broader view of the full situation.

2) I failed in my editorial duties to you, my audience, by not publishing SOMETHING at the time and capturing relevant story links for you. As of this writing, it is very difficult to find any kind of reporting -at all!- So you will have to forgive me relying on a ton of hear-say.

3) I regret not having investigated this more aggressively but what’s done is done.

So what do I have to say about the break-in to CLICS during UCSD’s finals week, and the coverage of said event? Find out after the jump!
