Tactical Experiment – US vs. Canada

Me and Dougem are both historical/tactical junkies (at least, I think he is) Anyway, I thought we should have a debate, on the subject of a theoretical war.

This war would have the USA attempting an invasion of my native Canada, where the commonwealth, France, and Germany all jump in on Canada’s side. Leaving out the improbability of such a war, who do you think would win? The circumstances are current, with current leaders. Due to the politics of the situation, no chemical or nuclear weapons are involved. Remember, America is trying to invade Canada, not annhiliate it.

Please leave your thoughts in the comments. If you have any disagreements with the posters, post a rebuttal. we’ll see where this goes.

Consider this a loose thought experiment for now. The most interesting tacticians among you will get guest posted in this series. I’ll share my take on a day or so — Ed

What does Kim’s death mean? It could mean a lot of things! It certainly puts a death clock on the North Korean regime.

Skeptic Conservative Podcast #13 – 12/16/2011

Highlights of the show included flyoverterritory dropping by twice, for likely an hour’s worth of phone time total, and a passionate discussion about lightbulbs.

This show covered:

  • A close of the Iraq War
  • Thoughts on Iraq and Afghanistan strategy and comparisons to Vietnam
  • The whole drone situation with Iran and the civilian vs. military struggle that let it happen
  • Thoughts on the Occupy movement and their reclaim ports day that sizzled – specifically Seattle
  • Lightbulbs, congress, and you

I have been convinced by the show and the discussion it spurred to eventually do an entire two hours on the ills of progressivism. Certain audience members who shall go unnamed apparently need a quick crash course in why government mandates from on high are a terrible way not only to make a point and to accomplish your goal, but actually encourage defiance and opposition! In a nutshell – it’s not exactly what is being banned, it’s the principle that banning apparently is necessary, and speaks volumes about just how little respect the government has for their people.

I called this back in late March, folks.  But I stayed mostly reserved because hard evidence was not in possession of the house investigative committee. It now is. Please keep a sharp eye on things through the holiday season – this is the prime time for inconvenient and uncomfortable stories to simply disappear! And you can bet the mainstream media is going to do everything it can not to cover this story – unless they decide to surprise us.

UPDATE: Finals week is upon me, so expect a brief content drought save for tonight’s podcast at 8pm. 90% certain I’ll be able to roll with it, it might not be a full show. I have a smattering of photos from occupy SD and UCSD to share – not a whole heck of a lot because at this time it’s not easy to get pictures without drawing nasty attention. -Doug
